7. Correspondence: Adj. Reported that he had received an Email from Denise Todero thanking the Det. for its contribution of a $50 Sheetz Card (along w/ donations from the DAV & TREA) to assist the family of an injured Reservist who is in Conemaugh Hospital. He explained that he had purchased the card and asked for reimbursement.

B. J/A reported that he had received a letter from Rep. Barbin’s office. The Comdt. explained that this concerned the new limits set on the license.

8. Report of the Paymaster: Bill Petruniak presented a check for $25.00 from his neighbor in appreciation for receipt of a flag in better condition than the one he had. (attached) FILED FOR AUDIT

9. Report of any member or Member of Family Sick or in Distress: A. J/A reported that Charles Alexander has been sick for a year with cancer.

B. Ed Ryan reported that Helen Knapp has returned home, but remains weak. Her daughter is staying with her.

10. Reports of Officers: A. Adj. reported on the injured Reservist who is in the Hospital.

B. Chaplain reported that we performed one funeral and he sent one Get Well card.

11. Reports of Standing Committees: A. Scholarship(attached) Chuck Huffman announced that next month begins applications for the new year. He will have apps. next month.

14. New Business: A. Budget Comdt. Reynolds reviewed the Proposed Budget forms distributed. Moved to Accept the Budget Proposal by Con Meyers, Jr. Second by Bill Petruniak. PASSED W/O Objection

B. Eagle Scout Program: Ed Dreikorn has submitted his resignation, and we need a replacement.

GUESTS: Terri Morway and Kerri Robertson from Interim HC who presented the Detachment with a check from a Grant for $2,500. Terri said we could apply for more grants later.

7. Correspondence: A. S/A read a letter from Rep. Burns who is offering free supper at the Rosebud Inn for Veterans. Guests will have to pay.

B. Chuck Huffman read a Thank you letter from Conemaugh Health Sys. for our donation to the Children’s health Fund. Marine Pentrack pointed out that that actually came from the Devil Dogs fundraiser at the Mineral Point Community Days.

B. A letter was read stating that KofC C is raising funds for the Christian Children’s Fund with a Basket Party

9. Report of any member or Member of Family Sick or in Distress: A. Keith Rogers has prostate cancer.

B. Welcome back to Steve Vranich

C. Bill Gibbons reported that Helen Knapp has had a stroke.

10. Reports of Officers: A. Jr. Vice reported that 10 tickets have gone unsold.

 

B. Adj. said we can always use contributions collection for needy.

C. JA said Wmt. Police have donated gun locks as a courtesy gift.

D. Comdt. Reynolds explained the fundraising for the Convention, in the last week of June 2012.

E. Chaplain reported one funeral last month.

 

 

11. Reports of Standing Committees: A. Scholarship (attached) Chuck Huffman reported that three students have sent thank you letters: Mike Good, Megan Rand, and Drew Rand.

12. Reports of Special Committees: NONE

13. Unfinished Business: A. Don Meyers, Jr. said he has been denied VA Benefits. Discussion resulting revealed all he wanted was a photo ID. He had served only his training period for the Reserves on Active Duty.

14. New Business: A. Sr. Vice announced a 50/50 ticket. 500 tickets have been printed so if we sell them all, it will be $1250 for the Det. and also the winner.

 

B. Marine Pentrack said the Sr. Vice has something. Sr. Vice said he wants to help a Marine who needs financial aid. Don Meyers, Jr. MOVED to donate $200. SECOND by D. Pentrack. PASSED W/O Obj.

C. Adj. MOVED to pass the Hat. SECOND by Tony Sherrin PASSED

$230 was raised.

B. Nominations were conducted (Attached)

16. Good of the League: Adj. announced that he will be resigning from his post. He and his wife plan to move next year. He will help the new person.

B. It was reported that Ralph Botteicher would like to attend meetings but doesn’t drive.

C. Ed Ryan said he had written to the JA.

The JA responded that the National JA and the Exec. Comm. responded .

 

 

17. Announcements: Phone Calls will be made for Veterans Dy. Richland Woods at 10:30. Woolly Pulleys, and red jackets or trench coats.

 

B. Veterans Day Parade forms up at 1530hrs, step out at 1600.

C. Adj announced that CAMTRAN has received a 100k Grant to help Veterans get to medical appts.

Next meeting 12/7/12 1930hrs.
