Dear Tom,
The family of the young PA NG soldier from Fulton County who was in a very
serious car accident and transported to Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown has
asked me to extend their sincere thanks for the generosity of the $50.00
Sheetz cards from TREA, DAV and Marine Corps League. These cards provided
tremendous support to this family while they were traveling to and from
Johnstown/McConnellsburg to be with this young man 24/7 - they used it for
gas and food needs.
This young soldier is a Specialist (E-4) in the PA Army National Guard and
is an Iraq war veteran. He sustained some very serious injuries in this car
accident to include a broken nose, jaw fractures - both requiring surgery -
his jaw is wired shut - he has a cast on his nose with drains - multiple
facial lacerations - 4 broken bones in his back and tendon issues-he has a
trach tube in - he eats using liquid food in a syringe. He has a long road
to recovery but strong family support. He is very grateful to the support
you provided to his family that allowed them to support him.
